Misc Rampage at Army Base

I would like to extend my condolences 11 killed and the 31 wounded by an Army Major one Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan who was a Muslim extremest. He entered in the post's Soldier Readiness Center where soldiers are either returning from duty or about to be shipped out and with two hand guns killed and wounder his victims. Now you see why I say the Koran Bible is bad shit. I wish all of the families victims God's speed and good luck through these harsh times.

Of course if you live in a Muslim city that is constantly a war zone this should mean little you. Either way I know it's not "scene" news, but it upsets me enough to post it. Please refrain from defamatory post - we have the facts.

I would like to extend my condolences also, it's really a sad event that shouldn't have happened. But I don't think the Koran has anything to do, unfortunately there's to many crazy extremist people in the world... Remember the Cave of the Patriarchs massacre?

The Koran is what the Muslims follow to heart. Some are extreme and some are laid back. This guy was extreme.

The Koran has everything to do with it if this person was acting on religious beliefs extracted from it. It is just the same as if someone went on a killing spree because of their interpretation of Deuteronomy 13:6-10, or any number of Old Testament Verses. It's not the books FAULT, we shouldn't be banning the Bible or Koran over it, but it's foolish to say that the religious book didn't have "anything to do with it."

As we know, the problem is not really the Koran, but the people who follow it.

Look at the past of the catholic church, and see if we can really blame the Bible for the Inquisition, for example. Well, I just don't want to talk a lot, so some other time I'll probably talk more about this situation, as read more news about it.

*PS: Sorry if it has any english error =X*

Well... I think it's more related to psychological condition... but enough of my inopportune opinion, let's take that factor out and let's remember about the unfortunate victims and their families.

I think this is probably the most idiotic post I've ever read in a site such as this. I appreciate the fact that you wish to offer your condolences to the families of the victims but why do it here and not on the news site where you read these facts?

Stick to what you're good at, posting scene news and not some half arsed rant with throw away comments about religion which you know will invoke a response.

It's your site, post what you want, but if you don't want ignorant drama...
In my opinion, simply putting:
"I would like to extend my condolences 11 killed and the 31 wounded by an Army Major one Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan. He entered in the post's Soldier Readiness Center where soldiers are either returning from duty or about to be shipped out and with two hand guns killed and wounder his victims."
Just the condolences, nothing about any religion and or texts, delete all comments, and lock thread.

As others have said, condolences good, implication bad.

Let's face it, religious extremism is nothing new to human history, and is not at all unique to Islam. Examples have been given, there are plenty of others on the more familiar side from the Crusades to Waco. Muslim extremism is very real, yes, and it is a terrible and brutal thing. Christian extremism, Jewish extremism, and others are also very real however.

The problem is and always has been blind hatred. Do you realize why the American South and the Middle East hate each other so much? It's because they're so alike, very devoted to their religions. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, except the hate that can be bred when you refuse to acknowledge the simple existence of another viewpoint.

So don't feed the hatred by commenting in such a way. It's only a clash of civilizations if you believe that's what it is. Consider that far more civilians have been killed in both Iraq and Afghanistan than US citizens - 911 victims, soldiers, and the rest combined. You might not like their reasons, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. They don't like yours either.

Now that's where you get angry and say they attacked, they started it. Go check your history, and they'll say you started it by establishing military bases, propping up dictators, blah blah blah. Well guess what? It doesn't matter who started it, it will only stop when both sides chill out, and when enough people moderate their viewpoints and those moderate people in the middle start to work together.

So again, yes it's bad and yes it exists, but don't feed it.

In the words of Sublime, "live the love, and let the lovin' come back". Think about it.

i heard about this earlier,
it truly is a terrible situation and i as well would like to extend my condolences.
this book, the Qur'an really needs to have some major reform to it, if you look into it the christian bible. it has had many reforms as has the jewish Tanakh, but the level of violence in the Qur'an "the original Arabic text" is insane. now from what i hear the english translation of the Qur'an isn't as bad as the original version, this seems to me "at least" to be a more moderate version for a more moderate Muslim, someone who can see what is in the book and realizes that in times such as this, it is important to ignore certain aspects of the book and follow the true message of Islam, which is peace.

Just want to say, Christians follow the New Testament, and use the Old Testament as a reference and history.

The New Testament commands Christians to turn the other cheek, and to forgive others '77 times 7' in other words, ALWAYS.

The Koran is evil, as it commands that all that do not convert to Islam should be killed. Not cryptically, but very plain for all to understand.

It's the Politically Correct idiot media who make Islam out to be 'The Religion of Peace' while constantly denigrating Christianity. You know, the same Christianity which made western civilization as advanced and humane as it is today, so much so that people from all over the world want to live there, imperfect as it is.

i understand you and where your coming from, i to do not buy the party line of "religion of peace" it's all bull and so is "C.A.R.E" but i still think that there are really moderate followers out there, i find it funny that whenever the schmucks in the media talk about Christians they always put them in the light of pedophiles, guess what not all pastors are pedo-bears just as to say not all Muslims are extremist's google "Javaid Anjum" it should be the third result down. that is why reform is needed.

Islam is a religion of oppression. From forcing people to convert to women having to wear coverings in public and being considered property with no suffrage. It's basis is oppression, but some people do not follow Islam strictly and are thus not extremists and aren't as much compelled to do things like this.

Christianity is based on forgiveness and grace. There are some people that are crazy though, however the Bible does not support their viewpoints. "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23) These people can also be considered false prophets/witnesses.

Why this post?? Don't forget physics deny what we've been told about muslins and airplanes:

I always doubt when I heard any news about muslins suicidal from then.

Misplaced post braken, you decide what to write of course, but it is misplaced to my understanding. No offense mate.

This sure will end well!

It sure is a good idea to jump to conclusions based on someone's name. "Oh noes, the Other is coming." Spare me your "it was only a matter of time" bullshit about some dude who happened to be Muslim until such time as people stop murdering doctors who provide abortions under the guise of "Christianity." There are totally broken people out there, and sometimes they'll use whatever religion is nearest by as an excuse to just kill people and act out a fantasy in which they alone are the hero who can save the world from the Other, whichever group that may be.

Stick to what you're good at, which is posting homebrew scene news (and frankly you're damn fine at it). Leave the big news to the every other site on the internet where we'll have no trouble coming across it without misspellings like "god's speed" and nonsensical phrases like "Muslim city" (buh? You are aware that Indonesia is the country with the largest number of Muslims, right? They don't have to be Arabs).

You know, the same Christianity which made western civilization as advanced and humane as it is today, so much so that people from all over the world want to live there, imperfect as it is.
Firstly, how many supposed Christians do you know who ignore the New Testament and quote the Old Testament constantly? The one that tells us to stone our children to death for misbehaving? The Bible is NOT some perfect work and had very little to do with the rise of western civilization.

Secondly, the Koran does NOT tell anyone to kill non-Muslims, just as it does NOT tell anyone that women must cover their heads and be treated as second class citizens (it essentially simply says women should be modest). Those are all things that people decided to do all on their own. "I've heard" doesn't cut it, "I've heard" is the source of most human stupidity.

The west rose because it came AWAY from the religiously crazed Middle Ages/Dark Ages (a time when the Islamic world had a golden age unrelated to religion), the Founding Fathers were very careful to keep religion OUT of the US constitution. Phrases such as "one nation under God" and "in God we trust" are much more recent inventions. If we want to pull the Muslim world out of their dark age, we have to work WITH them and keep religion out of it.

As with most human problems, the question is, who profits? It's fanatical religious leaders who spread these lies about the other side. Why? Because they gain their own fanatical followers, they become more powerful, they profit. That's how it started on the other side, that's how it spread to this one. Hatred breeds hatred. You said it yourself, turn the other cheek, well DO IT.

If you want to believe that God is a purple bunny, great, do it privately, don't inflict it on others and don't interpret the Book of the Purple Bunny as a divine document.

Unless you've read both books cover to cover, or at least want to provide a few LEGITIMATE reference points we can go look up in the widely publicly available on the internet books (again legitimate versions please), you have nothing useful to contribute and you're just another victim of blind hatred. Do some reading. If you don't want to read the "evil" Koran, at least read some history.
